Paola Matos is a researcher in organization studies and is currently pursuing a PhD at Grenoble École de Management (GEM), within the research group “Rethinking Work.” Under the supervision of Professor Anne Antoni, she studies the relationship between work and social class.
Her PhD dissertation at GEM consists of three essays: the first is a systematic literature review analyzing how the issue of poverty has been addressed in organization studies research over the past ten years; the second explores the role of the white uniform worn by nannies in Brazil and the discrimination they face when wearing it; the third examines informal work in the context of leisure activities in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Prior to joining the doctoral program at GEM, she earned a master’s degree from Fundação Getúlio Vargas in Brazil. Paola has presented her work at international conferences, including EGOS and ICMS. Actively engaged in academic life, she has taught work psychology and industrial relations to undergraduate students at GEM and has also served as a teaching assistant in several courses at the institution.
